As the 2021 Financial Year End came to a close on 28 February 2021, the annual filing season has opened for employers. The tax season for individuals is expected to open on 1st July 2021.  Keep up to date with some important tax dates to note:

31 May 2021: With the filing season opening on 1 April 2021, EMP 501 declarations are required to be submitted, including any outstanding EMP 201 declaration to avoid any interest and penalties.

31 May 2021: Workman’s Compensation fund return of earnings to be submitted.

31 August 2021: Provisional tax payments due for 2022/01.

31 October 2021: Individual taxpayers – branch filing.

4 December 2021: Non-provisional taxpayers on Efiling and the SARS app.

31 January 2022: Provisional taxpayers that use Efiling.
